1. What type and size of cable do you use?
For the stepper motors we use a 4 conductor shielded cable. For inputs and outputs we use 2 conductor shielded cable. For the VFD Spindle cable we use 20awg 3 conductor cable.
2 . Does the G3 CNC come with a warranty?
Your product will come with a limited 30 day warranty against component defects. We typically will buy extra motion controller boards, power supplies, and drivers just in case one was to go bad. Each unit is tested at different stages during the build and test run them in Mach 3 upon completion to ensure that the unit is in full working order when shipped.
3. Is the G3 CNC controller required to lay on top of the table?
The controller box can lay flat on the table, but there are 4 holes inside the box that would allow the box to mount vertically underneath table. The lid can rotate 180 degrees so the 3GCNC logo can display properly.
4. I purchased a G3 CNC controller, how do I get it to work in Mach 3?
You will receive an email with your shipment tracking number along with our installation manual that comes with written instructions and screen shots to walk you through a quick setup. You will also receive two files to be loaded into Mach 3, first the motion controller file and the second one is the G3CNC Mach 3 file.
5. How are the inputs and outputs wired?
The following is the programming for the G3CNC Controller inputs and outputs:
Input #1: Emergency stop
Input #2: Limit switches
Input #3: Homing switches
Input #4: Touch probe
Output #1: VFD spindle forward (triggered by M3 gcode command)
Output #2: Open option (Triggered by M4 gcode command)
Note: Outputs #1 and #2 cannot be on at the same time. M3 will cancel M4 and vice versa.
M5 will turn off outputs #1 and #2
Output #3: Open option (triggered by M7 gcode command)
Output #4: Open option (triggered by M8 gcode command)
M9 will turn off outputs #3 and #4
6. What is the quality level for your stepper motors and drivers?
We spent a large amount of time seeking out quality products from quality manufacturers to partner with in building our controllers. Our driver and stepper motor manufacturer offer the latest driver chip technology and work with us to build the motors to our specification. We value the quality of or primary components and have posted the product data sheets on our support page.
7. What is in the controller?
